10,000 m³ Agricultural Wholesale Market Cold Storage Project in Bachu County, Kashgar, Xinjiang - China cold storage solution provider

10,000 m³ Agricultural Wholesale Market Cold Storage Project in Bachu County, Kashgar, Xinjiang

Project Overview

The project consists of nine individual cold rooms designed for different storage needs:

  • 7 Fresh-Keeping Rooms (0°C to +5°C), Total Volume: 7,700 m³
  • 1 Pre-Cooling Room (0°C to +5°C), Volume: 1,100 m³
  • 1 Blast Freezer (-30°C), Volume: 1,050 m³

Refrigeration System Configuration

Fresh-Keeping Rooms (0°C~+5°C)

  • Equipped with a Hanzhong RC2-100B three-parallel screw compressor unit
  • 7 units of Kaidi DL260 high-efficiency ceiling air coolers

Pre-Cooling Room

  • Two sets of RefComp SP4H2500 piston compressors
  • 2 units of Kaidi DL260 air coolers

Blast Freezer (-30°C)

  • One Hanzhong LB-180 screw compressor
  • 2 units of Kaidi DJ170 high-static blast freezer evaporators

Insulation & Construction Materials

  • Fresh-keeping & pre-cooling rooms: 100 mm polyurethane sandwich panels (B1 fire rating)
  • Blast freezer: 200 mm polyurethane panels (B1 fire rating)

Temperature Control & Monitoring System

The project uses a Siemens fully automatic control system featuring:

  • Remote monitoring
  • Mobile APP control
  • Audit-trail recording
  • Door-switch monitoring
  • SMS alert system
  • Automatic defrosting
  • Automated backup-unit switching based on return-air temperature

This ensures precise temperature stability for agricultural produce and reduces energy waste.

What Problems Did This Project Solve for the Client?

1. Insufficient Storage → Expanded to 10,000 m³

The market can now store over 2,000 tons of produce, solving seasonal overflow issues.

2. High Spoilage Rate → Controlled at 0°C to +5°C

Fresh fruits and vegetables now maintain stable moisture and freshness during long-term storage.

3. No Pre-Cooling Capability → Added 1,100 m³ Pre-Cooling Room

Pre-cooling reduces respiration heat and extends shelf life, lowering losses by 15%–20%.

4. Lack of Deep Freezing → Added -30°C Blast Freezer

Products requiring deep freezing can now be processed on-site, eliminating outsourcing costs.

5. Manual Management → Centralized Digital Control

The Siemens control system significantly reduces labor costs and improves reliability.

Project Timeline

  • Design: 12 days
  • Manufacturing & material delivery: 25 days
  • On-site installation: 60 days
  • Commissioning & training: 8 days

👉 Total project duration: ~105 days

Energy Consumption

Based on full-load operation:

  • Fresh-keeping rooms: 32–40 kWh per 100 m³ per day
  • Pre-cooling room: 45–55 kWh per 100 m³ per day
  • Blast freezer: 85–110 kWh per 100 m³ per day

Average operating cost for the entire 10,000 m³ facility:

👉 Approximately USD 210–260 per day (depending on product load & ambient temperature)

Storage Capacity

With typical stacking density:

  • Total Capacity: ~2,000–2,300 tons of fruits, vegetables, and frozen products
