2000m³ Fruit and Vegetable Cold Storage Solution for a Family Farm in Mianyang, Sichuan

Project Overview

This project involves the construction of a fruit and vegetable cold storage facility for a family farm in Mianyang, Sichuan Province. The cold storage consists of five individual chambers (five-sided structure), designed to operate at 0–8°C with adjustable temperature control. The project was scheduled for completion on January 4, 2022.

The design not only prioritizes energy efficiency and cost control, but also complies with the main requirements outlined in the URS (User Requirement Specification) document.

Key Specifications

1.Storage Capacity & Layout

• Total cold storage area: 455 m²
• Total volume: 2,025 m³ (room height: 4.45 m)
• Chamber distribution:
  • Chamber 1: 58.9 m²
  • Chamber 2: 56.6 m²
  • Chambers 3, 4, 5: 113 m² each

2.Refrigeration System

• Chambers 1 & 2: Equipped with 2 sets of 10HP Copeland scroll compressor units (including condenser, solenoid valve, pressure controller, etc.)
• Chambers 3–5: Equipped with 3 sets of 20HP Refcomp piston compressor units (including condenser, solenoid valve, oil separator, pressure controller, etc.)
• Each chamber is fitted with Kaidi DL210 & DL105 high-efficiency air coolers for strong and uniform cooling.

3.Insulation Panels

• All five chambers are constructed with 100mm polyurethane sandwich panels (double-sided color steel)
• Fire resistance standard: B1 grade

4.Temperature Control System

• Installed with a New Asia automatic temperature control system, offering:
  • Precise temperature regulation
  • Temperature & humidity alarms
  • Data logging
  • Remote monitoring via smartphone app

This 2000m³ cold storage solution provides a reliable, energy-efficient, and smart preservation system for the client’s family farm in Sichuan. The facility ensures extended shelf life for fresh produce while minimizing storage losses and operation costs.
