This large-scale cold chain engineering project was designed and built for Jiujiuya Food Group, a well-known Chinese snack food brand famous for its braised duck products.
Located in Chuzhou (Anhui) and Tianjin, these two central kitchens serve as high-standard food processing and storage hubs, ensuring consistent product quality and safety throughout the production chain — from raw material handling and marination to finished product storage and dispatch.

Unlike traditional storage warehouses, this project integrates cold storage facilities directly into the food production workflow, forming a fully integrated central kitchen refrigeration system that supports multiple processing zones and temperature requirements.

Key Design Highlights

1. Multi-Temperature Functional Design

A key highlight of this project is its precise zoning design, dividing the total cold storage space into more than ten functional rooms according to specific food processing needs.
This ensures seamless connection between production stages and refrigeration operations.

Functional areas include:

  • Raw Material Processing: Raw Material Room, Pre-Thawing Room
  • Marination & Preparation: Marination Room, Seafood Marination Room, Drying Room
  • Production & Temporary Storage: Seafood Room, Vegetable & Bean Product Room, Boiled Food Holding Room, Egg Cold Room, Soup Ingredient Room, Soup Cooking Room, Temporary Storage Room
  • Finished Product & Buffer Area: Refrigerated Storage Room, Buffer Zone

Temperature Range:
Covers –18°C, 0–4°C, and 0–10°C, providing ideal conditions for both frozen raw materials and chilled finished products.

2. Stable & Energy-Efficient Refrigeration System

  • Refrigeration Type: Eco-friendly Freon system (environmentally compliant and highly efficient)
  • Liquid Supply: Direct expansion (DX) type, ensuring rapid response, simplified system design, and precise temperature control for each room.
    This system structure is particularly suitable for medium-scale central kitchens that require frequent loading/unloading and independent temperature management for multiple rooms.
