6,900 m³ Elevated Pharmaceutical Cold Room Construction Project for Shandong Luye Pharma

Project Overview

Shandong Luye Pharma, a national high-tech enterprise recognized by China’s Ministry of Science and Technology, required the construction of an elevated pharmaceutical cold room to meet strict GSP, ISO, and EN standards. The project scope includes a single cold room with a floor area of 355 m², height of 19.5 meters, and total storage capacity of 6,922 m³, designed to maintain a controlled temperature of 2–8°C with centralized monitoring.

The solution balances cost control, energy efficiency, and compliance with URS specifications while ensuring long-term reliability and safety for pharmaceutical storage.

Technical Solution

1. Insulation System

• Walls & Flooring: 100mm polyurethane spray insulation (Wanhua Chemical).
• Roof: 100mm polyurethane double-sided color steel insulation panels.
• Cold Room Door: Stainless steel polyurethane single-door (800×2100×100mm), designed for durability and airtight sealing.

2. Refrigeration System

• Main Units: Two 60HP Hanbell medium-high temperature screw compressor units (one operating, one standby).
  • Compressor Model: RC2-230B
  • Condensing Temperature: 35°C
  • Evaporating Temperature: -5°C
  • Cooling Capacity: 149.4 kW
  • Power: 52.7 kW
• Air Coolers: Four Sweden BOCK high-efficiency forced-air evaporators (two operating, two standby), ensuring fast and uniform temperature distribution.

3. Control & Compliance

• Centralized Monitoring: Automated system for temperature regulation, alarms, and data recording.
• Certification Ready: Fully compliant with GSP (Good Supply Practice), ISO, and EN standards.
• URS Requirements: Design and equipment selections made in line with the client’s URS file.
