1. Project Summary
Client: Kungfu Catering Co., Ltd.
Location: Xiqing District, Tianjin, China
Total Capacity: 7,000m³
Completion Date: January 2020
Application: Raw and cooked food cold chain logistics for a central kitchen
This cold storage facility was designed and built to support Kungfu Catering’s central kitchen logistics in Tianjin. It consists of three chambers—cold storage, frozen storage, and blast freezing—catering to raw ingredients and finished food products.
2. Chamber Breakdown & Temperature Specs
Storage Type | Volume (m³) | Temperature Range | Description |
---|---|---|---|
Raw Material Cold Room | 3,100 | 0~5°C | For vegetables, meats, semi-finished goods |
Frozen Storage Room | 3,400 | -18~-23°C | For frozen raw and cooked items |
Blast Freezing Room | 300 | -30~-35°C | For rapid freezing of finished meals |
Relative humidity is controlled between 75% and 85%, ensuring optimal freshness and minimal weight loss.
3. Construction & Materials
Insulated Panels:
- 150mm B1-grade polyurethane sandwich panels (fire-resistant) for frozen/blast rooms
- 120mm PU panels for cold storage
Doors: Electric sliding doors (single and double leaf)
Design Principle: One-control-per-room setup, ensuring precise temperature zoning
Energy Efficiency: High thermal resistance and environmentally friendly materials significantly reduce operational costs.
4. Refrigeration System
Refrigerant: Freon
Compressor Units:
- BITZER (Germany) dual-screw parallel compressors for high-load applications
- 8 piston-type air-cooled units, one per chamber
Air Coolers:
- LU-VE (Italy) high-efficiency axial fans for fast, even cooling
- Electric defrosting for blast freezing system
Design Notes:
- Direct expansion system
- Cold storage and frozen chambers allow temperature conversion flexibility
5. Control & Monitoring System
User Interface: Large-screen imported control panel
Temperature Management:
- Automated temperature/humidity regulation
- Real-time alarm notifications
- Mobile phone access
- Historical data recording (HACCP-compliant)
